Rebecca Jordan

Picture
"I never know who or what will show up and this is why I paint."

Rebecca Jordan, born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA, is a doula to her creative spirit which often births ambiguous characters that explore and attempt to capture those qualities and emotions often hidden from view. Rebecca's current work explores the concept of taking the mind out of the creative process to allow for a more honest expression. To turn off her cognitive process she uses blind contour drawings (continuous line and no looking) as a starting point for inspiration.  In addition to acrylic painting, she enjoys creating strange clay sculptures, doodling and collecting cardboard for reasons unknown at this time.
