Contour drawings
A contour drawing is like climbing a mountain rather than flying over it in an airplane. ~Kimon Nicolaides
We like to do contour drawings every day!
A contour is a line that describes the outermost edges of a form. Blind contour drawings are when your eye follows the contour of your subject and your pencil follows those movements on your paper. You never look down at your paper. This gives you a looseness and freedom in your drawing. These contour drawings were done in our online class. Some are drawn 100% blind, some are drawn with a drawing tool in each hand, some are drawn fast, some are drawn slow. Thanks to our Art 73 members for their contributions to this page!
